This was very cringey

I know this was supposed to be a cute little short love story but it gave me murder vibes instead。

Spicy and funnyThis cute romcom was filled with great banter and some spice。 It started off cute but slow, and then it burst into a thrilling story sprinkled with fun banter。 It ended with sweet spice。 It's a short and fun story。 Spicy and funnyThis cute romcom was filled with great banter and some spice。 It started off cute but slow, and then it burst into a thrilling story sprinkled with fun banter。 It ended with sweet spice。 It's a short and fun story。 。。。more

Cute short story! I definitely didn’t need any more than the 40 pages。 The writing was good and so descriptive, I really felt like I was in the bakery。 The whole “I scowl because I’m into you” thing just isn’t my favorite so I don’t think this one was ever going to be a love for me。

What even was this one。 🤦🏼‍♀️

So cute! I’m a big Jasmine Guillory fan and really loved this story。 Give me a man who can bake and I’m onboard! Also, this story made me so hungry that I had to get a breakfast sandwich 😍If you too are a Jasmine fan, pick this one up! The banter is great and I loved the audiobook too!

RATING: 3/5SPICE: 1/5A cute story about getting stuck in a bakery during a huge earthquake in California’s Bay Area。The plot was a little too insta-lovey for me, and man did those two move quick。 I get it’s a novella, but hot damn。

Maria

I loved the setting of the bakery and my mouth watered when she read off some of the pastries available – I love savory pastries! The earthquake was a nice way for them to finally introduce themselves but this was way too short for me to really connect to either of the characters。 This was my first Jasmine Guillory book and I would like to read something longer。I received a copy from #NetGalley for an honest review。

Karina

This was a cute little story。 Very predictable a but sweet slice of Daisy and Harris’ lives。

Drop, Cover, and Hold On by Jasmine GuilloryImprobable Meet Cute Collection。 Contemporary romance novella centered around a meet cute on Valentine’s Day。 All six can be read on their own。Daisy Murray has been going to the local bakery since it opened。 She absolutely loves all the pastries。 The owner always throws her a fierce scroll her way and Daisy is sure he hates her。 So she vows to stop going。 But she loves the hand pie so much she goes in anyway on Valentine’s Day where she first sees ever Drop, Cover, and Hold On by Jasmine GuilloryImprobable Meet Cute Collection。 Contemporary romance novella centered around a meet cute on Valentine’s Day。 All six can be read on their own。Daisy Murray has been going to the local bakery since it opened。 She absolutely loves all the pastries。 The owner always throws her a fierce scroll her way and Daisy is sure he hates her。 So she vows to stop going。 But she loves the hand pie so much she goes in anyway on Valentine’s Day where she first sees everything has been sold out and then there is an earthquake and she is stuck in the bakery with the owner。 Impressions are everything。 He frowns and looks mean。 She has a “resting smile face”。 Their time trapped in the bakery makes them talk to each other and Daisy finds out why she always gets an extra pasty in her bag。 Look beyond first impressions。 You don’t know what they are actually thinking。 3。5 。。。more

Super cute short story about a girl named Daisy who gets locked in her favorite bakery after a natural disaster and realizes the owner isn’t a grumpy man like she thought。

Giovanna Tufano

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Cute but not perfect like the other stories from this collection。

Kinzie

cute read! Very cute little v-day fast read! I love some good baked goods。 Definitely Recommend getting all 6 of these Valentine’s Day short reads!

Kayla

What to expect: midsize/curvy rep, earthquake, forced proximity (trapped), enemies-ish/dislike to lovers, baked goodsI loved this one! I thought it was really funny and the dislike to lovers was really fun。 It also made me want pastries Spice: kissing/making out

First of all WOMAN WITH CURVES Second of all HE WAS SCARED THAT SHE WAS THINKING ABOUT LOSING WEIGHT Third of all HE MADE HER FAV PASTRIES daaaaamn it was cute

A sweet quick story about a crush on both sides that neither side realized was mutual。

Jennifer

Just loling to myself that I describe Guillory’s writing as saccharine before reading this story。 About a baker。 This was sweet but not quite as swoony as the others。 I might have appreciated a longer version of the story as I didn’t quite get a feel for the characters in this format。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 The plot based on ********** which is the reason for Drop, Cover and Hold On is new in this romcom setup that I really liked。 The MMC doesn't seem like a grumpy guy after getting together with FMC but, what was the point of all that scowling?Even the FMC wouldn't have been self-conscious about her curves but that got mentioned a lot。 The plot based on ********** which is the reason for Drop, Cover and Hold On is new in this romcom setup that I really liked。 The MMC doesn't seem like a grumpy guy after getting together with FMC but, what was the point of all that scowling?Even the FMC wouldn't have been self-conscious about her curves but that got mentioned a lot。 。。。more
